Matthew Ruscigno

37; vegan 20 years; hometown Los Angeles, CA

“I started riding BMX bikes when I was 3 years old (two concussions by 6!). BMX and punk taught me that there are always other ways to do things, danger is underrated, and community is everything.”

“I'm extremely privileged to have the education I have, and it's my duty to pass on what I've learned, and I try to act accordingly. I get to talk with non-vegans about nutrition and alleviate their fears about malnutrition. Public speaking is something I love (only-child syndrome?), and I’m fortunate to have so many opportunities to do so. My goal is for vegans to be more science-literate and for non-vegans to never again ask where we get our protein.”
