"I attended a workshop course about art and play, and then a lecture series about avant-garde art history. I got really interested in play as a method of making art and especially a method for art education.

Late avant-garde theorists had really interesting ideas about art and play, and it's very political and very closely related to art education, in my opinion. I'm not the kind of art teacher who only cares about kids’ self-expression, but I want that my art classes are also related to what’s happening in the society. Basically, I'm interested in the freedom of play and freedom that art (maybe falsely?) promises, and late avant-garde theories have a lot to say about this."
